Property from the collection of a distinguished academic from New York forms the nucleus of the Asian section of the sale. The consignor started traveling to China and the East regularly after the end of World War II and studied in Paris. Highlights include a small offering of pottery from the earliest period to the Song dynasty, good Anamese and China Trade ceramics and funerary ceramic furniture. Other Asian material includes bronzes, jade carvings, wood-block prints, Canton, Rose Medallion and other Export porcelain.
