MT. CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates will hold a cataloged auction of fine and decorative arts on Oct. 10 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern. The highlight of which is a 500-plus lot private collection of R.S. Prussia including many rare portrait and scenic examples as well as unusual shapes. Property from the collection of a distinguished academic from New York forms the nucleus of the Asian section of the sale. The consignor started traveling to China and the East regularly after the end of World War II and studied in Paris. Highlights include a small offering of pottery from the earliest period to the Song dynasty, good Anamese and China Trade ceramics and funerary ceramic furniture. Other Asian material includes bronzes, jade carvings, wood-block prints, Canton, Rose Medallion and other Export porcelain.

Twentieth century design includes Arts and Crafts and mid-century modern furniture and accessories; American and European art glass by makers such as Tiffany, Gallé and Daum Nancy; studio glass and paperweights by artists including Dale Chihuly; and ceramics including Bernard Leach and Edouard Cazaux.
