NEW YORK, N.Y. – Roland Auctions NY will sell more than 1,000 fresh-to-market lots at their November 2017 Estates Auction on Saturday, Nov. 4, which will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern time. This sale includes many luxury items from several prestigious Manhattan and Long Island estates. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

“For the past several months we have seen a resurgence in traditional furniture and decorative arts nearly to the point where our sales are targeted equally to the modern collector as well as antique connoisseur. Price points are again rising and lost ground is being reclaimed by period styles and names familiar to anyone who has been in the industry as long as my brother and I have,” said Robert Roland, adding, “These market gains in the traditional sector are not forcing out the modern, but rather signal an overall expansion of our client base.”

With objets d’art spanning La Belle Epoque through all phases of 20th century Modernism, this auction provides an art historical and design survey that still manages to include opportunities for collectors at every bidding level.

Prudently selected works of fine art are available in several media spanning paintings, prints, photographs, and sculptures only now available to the marketplace after decades of private ownership.

Ethnographic and folk art is dispersed throughout Saturday’s auction and is represented by African, Pre-Columbian and Southwestern Native American artisans. Featured in this category is a large group of Inuit carved stone objects.
