NEW YORK – Roland Auctions NY will hold its next monthly estates auction on Saturday, Nov. 5, commencing at 10 a.m. Eastern. This sale boasts over 700 fresh-to-market lots comprising luxury items from prestigious Manhattan estates, as well as locations in Southampton, N.Y., New Orleans, Toronto and Menton, France. Commenting on current market trends and the merchandise selected for this auction, principal Robert Roland offered this observation: “For the past several months we have seen resurgence in traditional furniture and decorative arts nearly to the point where our sales are targeted equally to the modern collector as well as antique connoisseur. Price points are again rising and lost ground is being reclaimed by period styles and names familiar to anyone who has been in the industry as long as my brother and I have. These market gains in the traditional sector are not forcing out the modern, but rather signal an overall expansion of our client base.”

Saturday’s catalog bears out Roland’s strategy and offers a multitude of opportunities for bidders on wide-ranging merchandise.
With objets d’art spanning Belle Epoque through all phases of 20th century modernism, this auction provides an art historical and design survey that still manages to include opportunities for collectors at every bidding level.

Sterling and Continental silver available in this auction includes Georg Jensen and Tiffany & Co., from flatware sets to serving pieces (bowls, trays, chargers, pitchers), candlesticks, sculptural table decorations and vanity articles.

Fresh-to-market Chinese and Asian art is represented by objects executed in ceramic, Peking glass, bronze, cloisonné enamel, and jade with a selection of lacquered furniture.
