NAA elects first woman vice president, Christie King

King is a fourth-generation auctioneer and has over 20 years’ experience in the auction industry. She is president of C. King Benefit Auctions, a company that conducts benefit auctions throughout the Southeast to assist organizations with their fundraising events. King is also one of three principals of J. P. King Auction Co., serves on the company’s board of directors
In 1988, the Governor of Alabama named her to the Alabama State Board of Auctioneers, making her the first woman, and youngest individual, ever to serve as chairman of the board. She is past president of the Alabama Auctioneers Association, the 1995 Alabama Grand Champion Auctioneer and was also inducted into Alabama’s Hall of Fame in 2007.
King also serves on numerous committees for the NAA’s Education Institute, which provides ongoing educational opportunities to auctioneers worldwide.
Christie King will be NAA president-elect in 2010, to assume the title and responsibilities of president in 2011.
