HOUSTON (ACNI) – The Sept. 16-17 Houston Antiques + Art + Design Show has been postponed. Dolphin Promotions, organizers of the upscale show, sent out a Tweet announcing the postponement “due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey…”

The event advertised antique furniture decorative and fine art from 75 exhibitors from the US, Canada and Europe. This year’s edition was set to take place at a new location, Silver Street Studios on Edwards Street in downtown Houston. While the show venue itself has not flooded, its location is near Buffalo Bayou Park and the merger of Interstate 10 and Interstate 45, an area that has been seriously affected by rising water.

Also, through their Facebook page, Dolphin Promotions posted news of the postponement. “We will update later when we have a rescheduled date,” the posting says. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the City of Houston!”

Dolphin Promotions was established over 30 years ago by Bob Smith and is currently owned and operated by Rosemary Krieger. The Ft. Lauderdale, Florida-based company produces 12 high-quality shows annually, including events in Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles and Palm Springs.
