Specifically asked about damage and they failed to disclose obvious damage. Auction houses should not be allowed to absolve themselves from liability for their negligence like they do. A five year old could have seen the damage in this lot. The auction house is either grossly incompetent or dishonest.

Shipping costs were obscene. 8 oz booklet by ground delivery. Standard shipping supplies (box, paper, plastic sleeve). (Marked as 6 pound box for some reason). I ship daily heavier books as carefully and protectively wrapped for $4.75. My shipping costs for this item? $31.00! I expected the gouge from reviews and they were correct. I would not have used this auction house except for this rare item.

The leather books were beautifully wrapped individually and shipped quickly in a heavy cardboard box. What a delight! Thanks!

Everyone at Leland Little are warm and charming and very, very good at what they do. Their scholarship is top drawer as well.

Ridiculous shipping charges

Based on my experience and the questions provided, I gave this auction house the highest marks. That being said, long after the item had been paid for and received-perhaps a month, it was still not marked as paid in Liveauctioneers, as indicated by the green check mark under the "Items Won" user view. I so informed the auction house and it took care of it promptly. This does not change my opinion of this auction house; it is excellent. Many auction houses neglect to perform this post auction update on behalf of their successful bidders.

Leland Little is a good and decent auction house.

While most of my purchases have been shipped by an excellent and accommodating outside shipper, one who should be on your list of recommended shippers (Pak 'n Ship in Durham), I have now decided not to purchase coins because I think that the shipping costs are "over the top" for a few coins, which are easily shipped in some cases by Priority Mail with insurance and tracking for far less than FEDEX. Many auction houses and coin auctioneers choose a flat rate. I have purchased lots totaling close to $2000 and had them shipped for less than what you have charged me in the past. That's my ONLY issue with Leland Little. Everything else is wonderful, including your workers.

Shipping cost absolutely outrageous. A total ripoff. Auction house has 2 shippers for small packages. Prices from both were ridiculously high.

Have attended in person and internet and have never found information posted, as well as pictures, to be less representative than seeing in person. Great personnel and selection of shippers. In my case, I would rate NC Shipping Express (contact: September) as being one of the best shippers that I've dealt with. Top notch auction from start to finish!

Shipping cost are very important to me and while I was able to get the shipper to ship the items just as I wished, the quote was $41.00 and then a request for $66.00. I was able to get the cost back down to the $41 estimate but, by following my instructions the packing the shipping should have been in 20 dollar range. The uncertainty of whether I can get a fair shipping cost is negative for me concerning your auction.
