I was declared the winner on Live Auctioneers and waited for my invoice. Two full days later Poulin's requested "removal" of the item from my won items list due to a "clerking error". I demanded a proper explanation and six days later they finally said that the auctioneer accepted a floor bid after I had won the lot online and that nothing would be done as they are the ones who determine the winner. There are three other reviews below with bidders being denied their won items because of the same "errors" plus one on the BBB website. How on earth can a company make the same "error" again and again and get away with it?? Seems highly suspicious to me and in over 15 years of bidding I have never encountered such "mistakes" by any other auctioneers anywhere in the world. I have put the matter in the hands of BBB and will wait for their investigation but I would strongly advise anyone planning to deal with Poulin's to think again. They are either cheats or totally incompetent and they do not deserve to hold an auctioneer's license.

As with anything bought on an in-line auction there is always that chance that you made a mistake. This was way above my expectations and I’m very satisfied with my rifle. Top notch company with very polite help on the end of the telephone

Surprisingly quick delivery after a massive auction and good customer service

Poulons Rifle featured description fallsely read "factory sealed," factory sealed in original shipping carton ," sealed factory carton unopened . Description was falls-Carton had been artfully resealed and rifle was not new/unfired BUT EXTENSIVELY FIRED worth fraction of what paid. Poulon refused to take back even though description was falls and totally miss leading. Shipping is very slow.

The item I received was outstanding and true to the appraisel. However, The description involving getting my FFL to them was poor at best. It cost me at least a week in getting my item and I even called them to confirm what they wanted. The whole shipment and payment description was unsatisfactory in my opinion. I started calling them 4 days after I won the auction and I wasn't able to get through to a representative until 6 days after the auction was over. The phone message kept on saying they would call me and they never did. Also everytime I called they explain my gun would be shipped probably within the next couple of days. It finally got shipped about 4 weeks after I won the auction.

Recently I purchased seven firearms from Poulin. The condition of the firearms upon receipt were about as advertised. I do however have some complaints. I didn't immediately pay, the auction was on a Saturday and I made my first attempt to pay on that following Monday. The person who answered was nice and took my payment info, FFL info and assured me that everything would be sent soon. A week goes by, nothing. Not a word from the auction house which is interesting as I left my phone number and email. Called again a week later to inquire, different person answered and said they had lost my paperwork. I wrote it off as accidents happen and gave them my payment and FFL info again figuring everything would work out from here. Another week goes by with no contact, so I call again. This time my order is at accounting and they need my payment and FFL again. I supply my info again and ask how long as I had some friends coming from out of town that I would like to show these items to. I was assured they would ship before the end of the week. I called again last Friday to inquire about my order as I told them if it didn't ship within a week I was going to cancel the order. Suddenly I finally see them charging my account, and then a day later two more chargers for what I assume was shipping. Finally the items arrive, they are as described except for a few details. The bolt assembly in all of the rifles has been removed and put in an accessory bag? One of the bolt assemblies has been partially disassembled and I am having a devil of a time putting it back together. However, the descriptions are as described for the most part minus the all the bolts being removed ?) and the one being messed with.

The payment process was very easy and fast. The only thing I thought should have been better is to recieve a payment confirmation email after you pay and an update on shipping times when you pay. I was wandering about my payment and when the item would be shipped for a couple weeks until I contacted them. The overall experience with them was good though and I would buy again.

auction bidders are probably the most difficult people to deal with in the public. i know because i have seen this attitude for 55 years from going to auctions. poulin is fortunate to have an excllent staff that understands customers go where they are invited and stay where they are appreciated

Still waiting for my item and still don’t know what they charged me for shipping. There is no process in place to pay for your item online. I could have immediately paid for my item online but instead I called and called for over a week and could never get a response from a real person. Most likely because everyone else was calling the same desk phone manned by a single person. I was emailed a bill which included tax for $50 which was removed after I finally spoke with someone and paid for my item. I received an email recently with a tracking number but I’m not sure how much of my money they spent on shipping. In sum, this auction is a train wreck. You can’t buy anything cheap enough in this auction to make it worth it after the shipping & fees they add after which for me was about $200. My $750 purchase now $950. (I’m guessing on shipping).

Auctioneer did not disclose a nearly full length crack to forearm and another on the stock. Receiver also had early stage pitting. Only 2 photos posted neither of which showed the crack and photo resolution too poor to zoom. Buyer beware-especially with buyer fees.

Items were well packaged and arrived quickly.

Won auction on 13 guns total. Later, Poulin emailed me on a 'paperwork error' and asked me if I was ok with 2 guns being denied. I emailed NO. Then, they denied my denial. Went round and round on several emails. They stated auctioneer went with another bid, when I positively received a winning bid reply on my bid. I told them after this info, that I will up my bid 3 HUNDRED DOLLARS. They said sorry, can't do that after bid is closed, even though during the auction I saw several bids being reopened. Something stinks here. Then, I told them to hold the shipments (4 boxes) because I was out of state. The very next day I got an email from FedEx that the boxes were picked up! I emailed them And asked why? They said they assured me they were not shipped yet. I told them really??? One is delivered to my house already! Then they said yes, one did slip by them. THEN..... POOR PACKAGING!! I HAVE 3 GUNS WITH DAMAGE!! Like I said.... never again. Never again will I use this auction firm. NEVER.

Poulin's staff is very friendly. Their shipping is in-house and very fast. They sell things that appeal to all kinds of collectors. I like old western antiques and Poulin's has been a good supplier of quality authentic antiques. I've noticed fake antiques being sold on other online auctions that were said to be authentic but Poulin's must have good staff members who know their business. I don't recall ever seeing anything fake in their auctions and am confident in their estimates. Much appreciated!
