(Randolph County, North Carolina, 1810-1893) circa 1850s, salt glaze, bulbous form, coggle wheel decoration between two large applied strap handles at shoulder, "E.S. CRAVEN" stamp to both sides of jar, collared rim, 17 in. - Provenance: From the Estate of the Late Jim VanStory, Weaverville, North Carolina
Condition
glaze and clay body anomalies as made, large hairline from base edge up to the neck and across the shoulder, back down to body adjacent to other handle, associated hairline under handle, some illumination to lower side of body under black light, some to upper body due to residue
