Description
2 (Two) German novelty clocks and an American annunciator call box: (1) Junghans mahogany mantel clock, 8 day time and strike spring driven movement; (2) Patrick & Carter's 4 room annunciator box, the annunciator was used to indicate which room in a hotel required assistance when the bell was rung; (3) German globe clock, oak case with silvered brass dial, 30 hour spring driven movement c1890
Condition
(1) Missing outer bezel and door, case with imperfections at base, enamel dial with chip at left winding arbor (2) This rare example is called a needle annunciator, or a drop annunciator, because electricity releases a weighted device to drop and change the direction of the needles, or arrows. The bottom knob pulls down to reset the arrows. This box is marked "S.W. Entrekin., Harrisburg, PA"., unknown working condition. (3) The terrestrial globe within equatorial horizon band numbered with the hours of day, and with calibrated half-meridian, full solstice, and equinox bands, raised on a shaped oak clock base with round dial. The clock has a one-day spring movement, time only, no alarm, marked in German "Ges. Geschutzt, Patented Breveté", bezel missing, oceans are faded blue, globe in good overall condition, geographical entities are cream colored outlined in brown. Lot dimensions are of globe clock
