Louis Mailou Jones,Massachusetts, Haiti,1905-1998
Depicts the life and death of Martin Luther King Jr. through quick snapshots, originally painted in watercolor. Jones studied painting at the Academie Julian and was the only African American female painter of the 30's and 40's to achieve fame abroad.

From the collection of a Cranston, Rhode Island gentleman.
Signed lower right corner in image, titled "Homage to Martin Luther King Jr." lower left under image, marked "Published by the Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists, 1984" to right side of image in right margin.
