Description
Francis Giacobetti (1939), is a photographer and director of French cinema. 1957, at the age of 18, he discovered photography and was hired as an assistant to Maurice Tabard who was then the head of the photo studio for Marie Claire magazine. He was interested in new color processes and, at the age of 20, he was appointed "color consultant" of Paris Match. He became a reporter then photographer and artistic director for Lui magazine and also worked for Playboy from the 1960s to the 1980s . He is the director of the film Emmanuelle l'Antivierge (1975 ), second part of the Emmanuelle film series and the producer of Emmanuelle 4 (1984 ). Subsequently turning away from erotic photos, he was sent by Paris Match to photograph personalities for the magazine, such as Fidel Castro, Mikhaïl Gorbachev and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
