PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Ronald Gene Arnes (1926-2019) of Chattanooga, Tennessee. A private collector, US Navy World War II Veteran and served in Naval Aviation in Anti-Submarine Warfare, General Motors management for the overseas parts development program.
Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, QianLong Tea Dust glaze double ear gourd bottle. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, short cylindrical neck, straight open mouth, emerge S shape from neck to lower abdomen, raised on slightly short splayed foot base and slighty concave. All the Exterior decorated in Tea powder glaze, is one of the important varieties of iron crystal glaze in ancient China. It is made of iron oxide as colorant and fired by high temperature reduction flame. The glaze is devitrified. The glaze color is yellow green and mixed like tea powder. Green is called tea, yellow is called powder. Covered overall in pale green under glazed with densely dusted, with attractive green pale toward upper rim on a green pale porcelain body with golden-yellow pickles pattern covered all the vase.
The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six embossed seal script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of QianLong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
