William Heron (1742-1819). A Revolutionary War double agent, Heron betrayed secrets purely for money. His dealings did not come to light until a century after his death, when some papers were declassified by the British. Partially Printed Document Signed, “Wm. Heron.” One page, 7 1/2” x 3”. Hartford. May 12, 1789. The document acknowledges receipt of ten shillings, six pence being the interest due on 1 state note totaling £8.16.6. Fine
