Description
RUSSIAN ENAMELED 0.916 SILVER OPEN SALT, round well with rope rim and two scrolled handles, all-over applied bent wire having enameled floral and geometric decoration, featuring gilt star motifs, raised on three ball feet. Impressed along outer rim with an illegible maker's mark and a kokoshnik hallmark having "88" zolotniki for 0.916 silver fineness and a delta city mark for Moscow. Total weight including non-silver components: 2.545 ozt. First quarter 20th century. 1" H rim, 2 1/4" D rim.
Very good overall condition with minor wear and surface scratches, two chips to enamel on center floret, some scattered flakes and small chips to enamel.
