Description
Costa Rica, ca. 700 - 1400 AD. The larger terracotta bowl with high relief octopus motif, with rattles embedded within the applied bodies of the octopus. The smaller is a twin-spouted vessel with orange glaze.
Purchased at Rex Arrowsmith's in Santa Fe, NM in 1972. Lot including original certificate of authentication.
MEASUREMENTS
Octopus-motif bowl: 7 inches in diameter / 18 cm. Smaller bowl: 3 1/2 inches in diameter / 9 cm
