Description
Circa 2nd century BC-1st century AD. A forged iron spearhead with long split socket, thick median rib and shallow rounded wings to the blade; several piercings to the lower socket and a transverse incised band. Iron, 155 grams, 31 cm. See Smith, R.A. British Museum Guide to Early Iron Age Antiquities 1925, p.111. From an old English collection, found near Cirencester, England in 1995.
Condition
Very fine condition, stabilised and conserved; some losses to the socket rim and point.
