1) Hemphill for $31.50 for services under General Burlison. Hemphill was the acting adjutant General. He was also part of the Gillespie Company in the Vasquez Campaign of 1842. a force of 700 men under Gen. Rafael Vasquez marched into Texas and seized San Antonio on March 5, 1842. Vazquez retreated a few days later, but the panic that created had an impact on the Anglos in Mexico. 2) Smith for $31.50 for service in Captain John T Price[x=#8217/]s company under Colonel Owen. Price was in charge of the 1st Regiment of Volunteers (South West Army). They were at San Antonio, Camp Cooke and took part in the Somervell Campaign. 3) Hemphill for $31.50 for service under General Burlison as an adjutant general. Hemphill was an associate judge of the Supreme Court. He, however, joined in several campaigns against the Indians in 1842.
