Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Yongzheng blue & white bamboo forest motif porcelain square brush pot. The Porcelain potted in brush pot, sturdily in tall rectangle shape, straight body, thick potted, with a rectangle flat base, tall and gentle upward to wide straight opening form rim. All reserved in hand painting ornamentations, rendered in clean white under glazed ground color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The exterior adorned with sturdy bamboo tree interspersed dense foliage, above the rocks hill. Bamboo is viewed as a symbol of traditional Chinese values. It is an example of the harmony between nature and human beings. People think its deep root denotes resoluteness; its tall, straight stem represents honor; its hollow interior modesty and its clean and Spartan exterior exemplify chastity. Ancient Chinese literature held bamboo in profound esteem. In traditional Chinese culture, bamboo is a symbol of Oriental beauty. It represents the character of moral integrity, resistance, modesty and loyalty. It also stands as an example of loneliness and elegance, among others. This value becomes one of the major themes in Chinese painting, calligraphy and poetry. As a symbol of virtue, bamboo is always closely related to people of positive spirits. Bamboo culture always plays a positive role in encouraging people to hold on when facing tough situations. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on under base, a six under glazed blue seal script characters reign mark, YongZheng Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
