Also known as the Florida Scrub-Jay, John James Audubon found this beautiful bird in Florida and did not observe it at any other location in the wild. It was rare even in Audubon’s time and confined to the eastern portion of Florida that contains its preferred habitat, a rare oak scrub. Drawn on the branch of a Persimmon tree. Plate 18, from Birds of America by John J. Audubon. This framed print was originally given as a gift from Audubon Of Florida to recognize the "American Lifestyle" magazine as a cooperate partner during the years 2001 and 2002. The framed print is approx 30 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 38" and weighs 11.5lbs. The print is approx 21" x 27". The framed print is in a good, used condition with some wear and chips on the frame. The award plaque is on the bottom matting. The backing paper is also worn and ripped.
