Description
Artist Unknown. "Thomas Savery, First Aplication of Steam". Beautiful plaster cast patinated bronze of Thomas Savery, the first to invent and utilize a steam pump in 1698. There is a scroll at foot of steam pump that reads: First Application of Steam. Unusual subject for a sculpture, perhaps. What is without question is just how handsome this desktop piece is. Another huge plus is the base is wood, beautifully finished in faux marble and reducing the overall weight of the sculpture dramatically. Sculpture weighs 23½ pounds and is in excellent condition 16 x 21 x 7½". Perfect for any office, library or study.
