GEORGE III SCOTTISH STERLING SILVER CAKE BASKET Edinburgh, 1770 Daniel Ker, maker. Of typical form, with a cast rim and pierced panels of alternating geometric and foliate designs. Engraved with the coat of arms of the Norvel family impaling the coat of arms of the Falconer family, and with the Norvel family motto “Spem Renovant Ale”. Length 14.75”. Approx. 39.6 troy oz.
Condition
Interior with spots of black silver rot. Either side of rim with small dents caused by handle repeatedly hitting it. Foot rim with old solder marks.
