This commemorative broadsword is dated 1909. Having a 38" straight blade with one narrow and one wide fuller. Right ricasso with legend: Presented to the Witham Lodge No. 297/By Mrs. Hannah Elizabeth Strangward/Widow of Late Bro. Liam Strangward/Who was Tyler & Assistant Tyler of the/Witham Lodge for 38 years. Oct. 11th, 1909. Basket hilt. Crown pommel with cylindrical finial. Wire-wrapped Grip. Blade showing wear and pitting. Hilt with broken cage element. Replaced grip showing wear and minor worming. Condition (Good).
