Marion Huse (American, 1896-1967), three abstracted pieces, including: "Abstract Collage", oil and paper on cardboard, unsigned, abstract collage using primary colors with various shapes, uses of texture, unclear orientation, unframed, wear/loss to edges, abrasions with paint loss, 17 ¼" h. x 28 ¼"w.; "Untitled", oil on board, unsigned, cubist abstract with figure-like forms outlined with black and white, primarily gray, white, black with some red accents, appears monochromatic, unframed, wear/loss to edges, 17 ½" h. x 28 ¼" w.; along with "Reclining, Two Abstract Figures", oil on canvas board, unsigned, two abstract reclining figures heavily outlined in red and black filled, background is undefined with green and white, appears unfinished, unframed, wear long edges, 12" h. x 16" w. [Works by Marion Huse are currently being offered at Vose Galleries and Childs Gallery, and have been sold by Spanierman Gallery in the past. This work was given to the Brockton Art Museum (MA) by the artist's husband, Dr. Robert Barstow; the BAM in turn gifted the Huse Collection to the New Britain Museum of American Art which later chose to sell some Huse works through auction at Winter Associates, Inc., CT] NB (152) M
