Marion Huse (American, 1896-1967), two unframed oils on board, including: "Autumn, Pownal", oil on board, unsigned, landscape with red/orange autumn trees, white houses directly behind trees, blue sky, unframed, wear to edges, abrasion along right sky with loss of paint, 9" h. x 11 ¼" w.; and "Untitled Collage, 1960's", oil and paper on wood panel, unsigned, collage of undefined subject, various paper textures, painted in places and unpainted in others, predominately blue, dark gray and white, with accents of green, yellow and red, unframed, wear to edges, some cracquelure with areas of paint loss, 14 ½" h. x 27 ¾" w., both pieces sold as is. [Works by Marion Huse are currently being offered at Vose Galleries and Childs Gallery, and have been sold by Spanierman Gallery in the past. This work was given to the Brockton Art Museum (MA) by the artist's husband, Dr. Robert Barstow; the BAM in turn gifted the Huse Collection to the New Britain Museum of American Art which later chose to sell some Huse works through auction at Winter Associates, Inc., CT] NB (2271) M, NB (205) M
