A BLANC-DE-CHINE FIGURE OF BUDDHA
Late Ming Dynasty
Seated in meditation, his legs crossed in padmasana, the hands resting in his lap in dhyanamudra, wearing loose robes draped over the shoulders and tied at the waist, the head lowered with serene expression, the hair fashioned in a mass of tight curls, set on a stylised double-lotus-lappet base.

Condition
The head probably re-attached with restored hairline crack visible around the neck, approx 9cm long; some minor firing imperfections including glaze cracks, the largest turning into a hairline crack on the chest, approx 5cm long; the largest firing crack approx 4cm long on the base; a small firing crack around the left wrist approx 1cm long; general surface wear; minor nicks and chips to the extremities, the largest approx 3mm wide.
