1990 Buick Reatta Convertible - VIN: 1G4EC33C5LB906704 - Offered Without Reserve - Great entry level collector car | 74,197 miles | Bright Red paint by PPG Industries | First year of the convertible; 1 of 2,132 produced3.8-liter V-6 engine, 165 HP, four-speed automatic transmission, front wheel drive, independent suspension, anti-lock brakes, four-wheel disc brakes; wheelbase: 98.5”

Introduced in 1988, the Buick Reatta was a low-volume front-wheel drive two-seat grand tourer coupe that was marketed and offered from the Buick platform. The Reatta was manufactured, and hand assembled at the Reatta Craft Center in Lansing, Michigan. Rather than using the conventional assembly line, specialized teams were formed to assemble the cars at a series of stations. After the assembly was completed, all of the Reattas’ paintwork was performed by PPG Industries. The car lived a short production run only lasting for four years, during which time a mere 21,751 units rolled out of the Lansing, Michigan plant. For the 1990 year, Buick introduced a convertible model and only 2,132 convertibles were produced out of a total of 8,515 Reattas. Therefore, the convertible model is more sought-after by car collectors alike.

The 1990 Buick Reatta Convertible being offered here is presented in its original Bright Red PPG Industries paint with a contrasting tan convertible top. The consignor notes the car still presents nicely. The paint does show imperfections in it, as well as scratches throughout, mainly due to it being over 30 years old. Fitted in all four corners, the 16” aluminum wheels are wrapped in Farley new Sumic GT64A tires. Other exterior factory options include unique pop-up headlights, fog lights, anti-lock brakes, power four-wheel disc brakes, and cornering head lamps.

The interior features comfortable saddle tan leather bucket seats with matching door panels and carpeting. The cabin presents nicely as the interior only shows slight signs of wear on the driver’s seat and steering wheel. The digital instrumentation panel lies in the dash, giving the car a futuristic feel while driving. For the 1990 model, Buick did away with its faulty touch screen radio and installed a traditional push-button stereo and climate-controlled system. Behind the two bucket seats are two lockable bins, as well as a lockable hatch that allows for access to the rear trunk. Other factory features of the interior include a factory CD player with a graphic equalizer.

Under the hood, you will find a well-kept and clean engine bay, as well as the 3.8-liter fuel injected V-6 engine that is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Easy to maneuver due to this power steering, independent front suspension, and disc brakes, this Reatta can be enjoyed by anyone that wishes to drive it.

With only 2,132 of these models manufactured in the 1990 production year and being front-wheel-drive, this Buick Reatta Convertible would make for a great driver-quality entry level collector car that can be enjoyed year-round in all conditions and especially enjoyed in the summer months.
