Description
Tin canteen, 8 1/2 in. dia., with three rectangular loops for a strap, ringed body, and 1/2 in. spout (lacking stopper and strap, surface wear, few dings, and some areas of surface loss, wear typical considering age and use). A war-date canteen later carried by a veteran to the monument unveiling of Robert E. Lee's statue as indicated by the following painted on the front, "Unveiling Lee Statue. / May 29th 1890. / Richmond / CSA" (some loss to paint).
