An attractive pair of early wooden painted book boards, presented in hanging cases. Circa 15th century or earlier. One board features a rider on horseback and appears to be dated around the 13th century, though the paint here is chipped and thus the date uncertain. The boards measure 9.25" x 6.75", and approximately 1/2" thick. Various painted coats of arms, and the word "Libertas" appear on the other board. An intriguing, unique, and attractive pair.

Not removed from cases, boards are bowed as typical, various chips to painted surface, some cracking, refer to photos for condition, sold as-is.
