Description
TWO 17TH AND 18TH CENTURY RELIGIOUS BOOKS. Dubia Vexata Script. Sacrae by Augustus Pfeifferi, 1692 with vellum covered boards, 1174 pp and unpaginated index, 8.5 inches x 6.75 inches (21.6 x 17.2 cm) and Informatorium Conscienntiae Evangelicum by Arnold Mengering, 1704, with vellum covered boards, 1196 pp and unpaginated index, 8 inches x 7 inches (20.3 x 17.8 cm).

Condition
Both volumes fair to good condition overall. Book one (Mengering) - The spine and boards with staining and edge-wear. Lower spine’s surface has several small areas where the cover’s surface has been abraded. Interior front cover has minor detachment from board, which has some worming. The binding is tight. Front endpapers, bearing some minor worming, as well as interior front board have several notations and signatures in pencil and ink. Book appears complete. Interior pages are deeply tan (not brown or brittle to touch), with no noticeable losses, dog ears, tears and just some scattered foxing. Book two (Pfeifferi) – Both boards’ covers are detached at the bottom (to a greater extent in front). The binding is tight. Front and back endpapers are slightly torn from spine at the lower quarter bearing several notations and signatures in pencil and ink. Book appears complete. Interior pages are tan that is consistent with age and normal handling with some minor folds and chipping (front and back endpapers), and no additional noticeable losses, dog ears, tears or foxing.
