Description
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE PITCHER, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with double incised neck rings, triple incised shoulder rings, applied strap handle, and beaded foot, Albany-slip glazed interior. Brushed cobalt decorations featuring two flowers rising from the base with a horizontal feather design to each side of neck, a vertical feather design to either side of spout, and additional to handle terminals. Probably the Richard C. Remmey pottery. 1870-1885. 11" H, 5 3/4" D rim.
Having light radial hairline extending from base up side, three chips to foot, and some areas of restoration including to rim hairlines and base.
