STAMPED NORTHEASTERN DECORATED STONEWARE JUGS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each of beehive form with strap handle, comprising a "2" gallon capacity mark example stamped "GEO. F. HEWETT, / 34 FOSTER ST., / WORCESTER. / 112 [and 114 PEARL ST.,] / B[OSTON MAS]S. and a "4" gallon capacity mark example stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N. Y." Each having slip-trailed cobalt floral design to front. Third quarter 19th century. 13" H and 17 1/2" H.
Worcester example undamaged; New York example having chip and scattered flakes to mouth and one minor flake to neck.
