Edward Blowers of Beccles (English, active second half 18th century), late 18th century. George III mahogany tall case or longcase clock, having an arched hood with brass finials and fully engaged columns, the brass dial with silvered name plaque and chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, seconds dial and date apeture, shaped door to trunk, paneled base, and rising on a shaped plinth base. Marked to dial. Approx. h. 92", w. 18.25", d. 9.25".

Condition

Case has been refinished; some losses to rear quarter-round columns; dryness cracks to lower front moulding; no apparent additions; clock was in working condition when tested.
