Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Famille Rose Cranes Motif Porcelain Brush Pot. The Porcelain potted in brush holder shape, sturdily in cylindrical straight body, thick potted, deep curvature, round mouth rim with flaring thick ring, raised on flat round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in blue base color which contrast against Famille rose design color, depicted of many flying cranes over scrolling ruyi, vapors and Fu Bats. Enclosed with scrolling auspicious pattern on the top and the base. The crane symbolizes longevity as well as wisdom. An embroidery of a crane formed part of the regalia of the top rank of Imperial officials, so can symbolize the wish for promotion to a high official position. A crane is often portrayed with a tortoise longevity or a deer longevity and riches.

The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine blue rectangles lines. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
