John Gorse (1945-2020) of Charleston, SC. A business entrepreneurs, private collectors. A retired as senior vice president for legal and regulatory affairs in 1981. After retirement he focused his efforts on revitalizing the local area and philanthropy. His entrepreneurial drive continually motivated him to privately invest in real estate ventures and many other businesses. In addition to his impressive business acumen, he was a man of artistic pursuits, collecting antiques, porcelains, oriental rugs, and artwork of many different genres.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Famille Rose Flori Motif Porcelain Large Vase. The porcelain potted in big vase shape, thick and tall, abdomen octagonal mid body, tall cylindrical neck, round wide flaring mouth lip, raised on a short ring foot base with slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in light green glazed color which contrast against Famille rose color, depicted of flowers bloom interspersed green foliage surrounded auspicious pattern all the surface. All patterns are with bright colors, gorgeous, heavy in color and strong in contrast beautiful.

The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red seal script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
