North America, United States, World War II era, ca. 1944 CE. An interesting naval practice artillery round carved from three stocky wooden sections to create a shell-shaped projectile. The circular base and nose cap are comprised of thick brass plates, and the nose cap is threaded to screw onto the top of the upper body. The exterior lettering on the base cap read "HMC 1944" and "329486-B-6 BFT," and the interior lettering reads "3" DUMMY CARTRIDGE MK-6 50 CAL." Size: 4.25" W x 34.5" H (10.8 cm x 87.6 cm)

Condition
Minor abrasions to brass components, with small chips to some wooden sections, and softening to some stamped lettering on base, otherwise intact and very good. Nice patina to wood and brass.
