Description
Amazing 1960 dated uniform named and worn by Four Star general James Francis Collins. All original and as acquired by a collector DIRECTLY from General Collins in 1986 (included tag noted this). I Corps patch on the right shoulder from when he commanded the I Corps Artillery in the Philippines and Japan at the close of WWII. Post war he commanded the 71st and 2nd Infantry Divisions, as well as US Army Alaska from 1954-57. Collins was later commander of US Forces Pacific. The General Staff badge is NS Meyer, the Secretary of Defense ID badge is Meyer and Sterling marked. All ribbons and stars are bullion embroidered/sewn on. The pants are not named but came with the jacket. Also included is an original 8 X 10 B&W photograph and table name cards-There is also a very detailed biography of General Collins. Scarce opportunity to have a REAL named FOUR STAR group.
