A GLORIA VICTIS SCULPTURE AND PEDESTAL
FRANCE, 20th Century. A painted and bronze doré replica of the 1872 sculpture made by Marius Jean Antonin Mercie, originally cast by Barbedienne, depicting a winged female allegorical image of Pheme carrying a fallen French soldier whose broken sword represents the defeat; the sculpture set on a marble pedestal.
