Description
Woodville, after Richard Caton (British, 1856-1927) and after William Heysham Overend, Pair of plates depicting scenes from the Zulu War in South Africa, originally published in the Illustrated London News: At Bay! (July 16, 1879) by Woodville and The Zulu War: Inside the Laager at Ginghilovo During the Zulu Attack (May 24, 1879) by Overend, hand-colored engravings on newsprint, both signed in plate, original vertical fold on both, images 12.25 x 17.25 inches, uniformly matted and framed 23.5 x 28.5 inches, photocopies of the original printed text affixed to back of frames.
Condition
In seemingly good condition, unexamined outside of frames; Overend with light staining to the margins. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense.
