19th Century American Southern Flame Mahogany Bed Steps

Item Details

Description

These Southern American bed steps have bookmatched flame mahogany on the risers. The turned Federal legs are solid mahogany and the case is mahogany veneer on poplar and white pine. The steps were originally purchased in Charleston, South Carolina, circa 1900 and went to an estate in Georgia. The top step opens and the middle step pulls out.

Condition

Wear consistent with age and use. The lids have very slight warping and there is minor veneer patches.
