Scarce outline of projected solutions to the growing transit difficulties in post-Civil War New York City. Much of the text is the Engineer's Report by Edward W. The two albumen photographs include "Sectional View, Metropolitan Transit Company's Roads," both elevated and underground; and "Crossing at 14th Street - Perspective View." Both of the photographs are somewhat faded with a few edge chips. The untitled map shows all of Manhattan and portions of adjacent shorelines. The map sheet measures 33.5x103.5 cm (13Âľx40Âľ"); formerly bound in, it is now loose. Four copies of the book are located in OCLC: Columbia University; New York Historical Society; Onondaga County Public Library; and the University of Denver.
