This is an excellent map of New York City are during the Revolutionary War. The map covers the strategically important Manhattan Island and vicinity, including Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. Color coding indicates the positions of the British (Red) and Continental (Blue) forces as each attempted to maintain control of the region of the heights on August 27th, 1776. Many ships are shown and most are named. Additional details given include rivers, roads, topography, etc. From the Atlas to Marshall's Life of Washington, published by J Crissy. This a museum discard copy.
