Sumatra, Palembang area, Indonesia Kris (keris) Dagger Handle carved from hardwood, depicting a Fevered Sumatran seated in the classic position with the right arm placed behind the shoulder to hold the shawl intended to keep his body from becoming cold and feverish. This said, the large bird's head that appears to be difficult to hold up may belong to Vishnu's famous eagle Garuda, covered in intricately carved patterns, on a museum stand, 3 1/4" tall. Fine condition. A superb example! Provenance: Ex-private collection of Ami Brown, owner of the Coca-Cola franchise in Israel.
