Item Details
Description
1947 Hudson Big Boy Pickup. Though it appears to be rusty, this rare 1947 Hudson pickup doesn't have a rust hole anywhere on the body or box and is ready for a complete restoration or the base for a radical custom truck. Purchased in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1975, this pickup, dubbed the Big Boy by Hudson, belonged to Luther's Sewing Center. The truck features the largest pickup box of the time at 48 cubic feet of cargo space. And this one still has its original wood floor in place. Hudson built pickup trucks for many years, usually for other manufacturers or under names not associated with Hudson. After World War II the company had a large pickup in its truck offerings and decided to bring it back out as a Hudson ¾ ton Big Boy. This pickup shares its front end with the passenger Hudson and though it only lasted two model years (1946-47), the company sold about 6,000 of the trucks which was a respectable number in the mid-1940s. Even though it's not running, it's rare to see one of these Hudson trucks completely intact.
