1923 Model T Ford. Daryl Hemken purchased this car in 1993 from Les Anderson in Kanawha, Iowa and used it to teach his sons how to drive. These cars are driven using one of three pedals with the left pedal the low and high gears, the center pedal for reverse and the right pedal for the brake. Obviously if you could handle driving a Model T it gave you great driving skills! The early '23's had forward opening doors, the last year for that configuration. Later in the year Ford placed a shelf behind the seat and the doors opened from the rear. This car remains fully functioning and drives well once you get used to the pedal.
