A rare Tibetan pictorial rug, Shigatse, Southern Tibet, circa 1900s. Beautifully decorated with male and female deers that symbolizes harmony and roses and the stems emerging from the water. A true piece of art. A rug of this quality would have been used only by the wealthiest families for ceremonial purposes. Natural dyes, wool weft, wool warp. 93cm x 90cm.
