Description

A Good And Elaborate Copy Of A Saxon Royal Guard Estoc Circa 1890. The long double edged blade with flat at forte. The hilt of classic Saxon form cast and chased in relief with dogs at the hunt. Spatulate quillions. The waisted grip of one piece cast and chased with a stag in a woodland landscape. The pommel cast and chased with a standing bear. Originals of this sword may be seen in the Kunsthistoriches Museum in Dresden. This sword may have been made in the atelier of Ernst Schmidt. Estimate: 750-1500
