CIVIL WAR - AUGUSTA CO., SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA MANUSCRIPT MATERIAL, LOT OF TWO, comprising a penciled note for Tinkling Springs Church recording Rev. William Houston commenced his ministerial services the 15th, November, 1864 and preached his last sermon June 25th, 1865, also that on July 2nd, 1865 Mr. See preached his first sermon after his return from Johnson's Island as prisoner, he went to Army Aug. 25th 1863; and an 1895 post card signed by Thomas D. Ranson (1843-1918), Captain Co. I, 12th VA Cav.; wounded at Cross Keys; in charge of Scouts in Secret Service Dept.; postwar lawyer in Staunton as well as serving as President of the Chamber of Commerce and YMCA.

Note with split at fold, both otherwise very good condition.
