ROBERT BEVERLEY JR (1858-1928), FAUQUIER AND ESSEX CO., VIRGINIA MANUSCRIPT ARCHIVES, UNCOUNTED LOT, presented in nine archival boxes, consisting of a wide variety of Virginia and Maryland billheads/receipts, most with postal covers, pertaining to agriculture, livestock, farm implements, building supplies, household furnishings, etc., financial and political correspondences, VPI (Virginia Tech) correspondences and term reports for his son, accounts pertaining to Blandfield, family correspondences, plus much more. All in archival sleeves. Primarily 1890s to 1910s.

Catalogue Note: Robert Beverley Jr. was the son of Colonel Robert Beverley (1822-1901) of "Avenel", Fauquier Co. He married Richardetta Carter, daughter of Colonel Richard H. Carter of "Glen Welby", Fauquier Co in 1879. The couple raised their family at the Beverley family ancestral home, "Blandfield" overlooking the Rappahannock River in Essex Co. Beverley was one of the leading farmers in the state and served for many years on the board of the Virginia State Fair Association. He was also very active in the Protestant Episcopal Church.
