Description

ASSORTED AMERICAN ATTRIBUTED PEWTER CANDLESTICKS, LOT OF 13, six pairs of baluster-form examples with stepped foot, comprising of three unpatterned examples with one-piece bobeches and push-up ejector mechanisms; and remaining three pair with ribbing to each foot and each bobeche, two pair with removable bobeches and remaining with a threaded foot construction and with additional ribbing to the shaft; and a single chamberstick example with ribbing to the bottom of shaft and top of removable bobeche. Each unmarked and some with engraved numerals. Together with one unpatterned bobeche. Fourteen (14) pieces total. Three pair probably of the Cincinnati region. 19th century. 4 1/4" to 11 7/8" HOA.
Provenance: The collection of the late Theodore "Ted" and Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.

Condition

Very good overall condition with expected wear and minute imperfections, tallest examples lacking ejector mechanism and with some tilting and uneven foot, chamberstick example with some flaking and a minor loss to the top of socket.
