Description
**Originally Listed At $200**
Native American, Southern United States, Mississippian / Caddo, ca. 1100 to 1500 CE (900 to 500 BP). A great collection of 11 petite hand-knapped stone projectile points made of chert and quartzite. A few different types are exemplified in this group including Washita, Harrell, and Cahokia. The stones themselves are a glassy and semi translucent stone and others are a matte chert. The petite size of these is impressive. It would have taken immense patience and a gentle hand to knap the fins and blades without shattering the stone. Size of largest point: 1.125" L x 0.7" W (2.9 cm x 1.8 cm); case: 6.25" L x 5.25" W x 0.75" H (15.9 cm x 13.3 cm x 1.9 cm)
Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
